Cost breakdown

What Antigua & Barbuda citizenship really costs

USD 230,000 covers a family of up to four on the National Development Fund route. Here is every charge behind that number, and where larger families should look instead.

Antigua & Barbuda is the most efficient Caribbean programme for families, because the headline contribution is priced per family rather than per applicant up to four people. A couple with two children pays what a single applicant pays elsewhere.

The trade-off is the five-day visit required within the first five years, and a slightly longer processing window than St Kitts. Neither is a problem when planned for, and both belong in the budget rather than in the small print.

Where budgets slip

Three costs people forget

The five-day visit is a real cost

Flights and accommodation for the whole family within the first five years, plus the time away from work. It is a condition of the citizenship, not an optional trip.

Due diligence is charged per person

Every adult is screened and billed individually even though the contribution itself is priced per family, so a larger family raises the fee layer even when the contribution does not move.

Large families should price both fund routes

Past four applicants the National Development Fund adds a charge per dependant, and at six or more the University of the West Indies route often lands lower overall.

Questions

Cost questions we are asked most

How much does Antigua and Barbuda citizenship cost?
The National Development Fund contribution is USD 230,000 and covers a family of up to four applicants at one price. Add due diligence and enhanced background screening of about USD 15,000 per adult and USD 8,000 per child, legal, agent and government processing near USD 17,500, and roughly USD 4,000 for certificates, apostilles, translations and passports. Our professional fee is fixed and quoted upfront.
Why is Antigua usually the cheapest option for a family?
Because the headline contribution is charged per family rather than per person up to four applicants. A couple with two children pays the same USD 230,000 contribution as a single applicant, which no other Caribbean programme matches at that size.
What is the University of the West Indies route?
For families of six or more, the UWI Fund route costs USD 260,000 and includes one year of tuition-free university scholarship for one family member. It costs more than the National Development Fund but prices a large family more efficiently.
Is there a residence requirement?
Yes, and it is the one obligation people overlook. You must spend five days in Antigua & Barbuda within the first five years of holding citizenship. Budget for that travel; it is a condition of keeping the citizenship, not a formality.
What does the real estate route cost?
Government-approved property starts at USD 300,000 and must be held for at least five years. The capital is an asset rather than a spend, but add closing costs, ongoing property charges and no guarantee of resale value.
