Cost breakdown

What Grenada citizenship by investment really costs

The contribution is only the first line. Here is every government, due diligence and professional charge on a Grenada file, and how the numbers move once a family is added.

Grenada is not the cheapest Caribbean passport, and investors who choose it rarely choose it on price. It is the only programme in the region whose citizens can apply for a United States E-2 investor visa, which is why American-bound families and entrepreneurs planning a US business regularly pay the premium over a lower-priced neighbour.

The arithmetic splits into two parts: the qualifying investment, which is either spent (the fund contribution) or held (approved real estate), and the fee layer, which is spent in both cases. We quote our professional fee separately from every pass-through charge so you can see exactly which number is ours.

Where budgets slip

Four costs people forget

Due diligence is per person, not per family

Every adult in the application is screened and charged individually. A couple with a dependent parent carries three adult due diligence lines, not one.

The E-2 visa is a separate application

Grenadian citizenship makes you eligible to apply for an E-2. The US filing, the qualifying business capital and US immigration counsel are additional costs on a separate timeline.

Real estate carries holding costs

Five years of management, maintenance, insurance and local property taxes sit on top of the purchase price, and resale value is never guaranteed.

US citizens still file worldwide

A second citizenship does not change United States tax filing obligations. Treat tax planning as a separate exercise with a qualified adviser.

Questions

Cost questions we are asked most

How much does Grenada citizenship by investment cost in total?
A single applicant on the National Transformation Fund route starts at a USD 235,000 non-refundable contribution, plus due diligence and enhanced background screening of about USD 16,500 per adult, legal, agent and government processing of roughly USD 19,500, and certificate, apostille, translation and passport charges near USD 4,500. Our professional fee is fixed and quoted upfront, separate from every government charge.
What does it cost to add a family?
A spouse adds about USD 50,000 to the contribution and each further qualifying dependant about USD 25,000, with due diligence and screening charged per person, roughly USD 16,500 per adult and USD 9,000 per child. Grenada's family definition is the broadest in the Caribbean and can include parents, grandparents and unmarried siblings.
Is the real estate route cheaper than the fund route?
It is not cheaper upfront. Approved real estate starts at USD 270,000 for a shared interest, or USD 350,000 for sole ownership, held for five years. It costs more at the start but the capital is an asset you may recover on resale, unlike the contribution, which is spent.
Why do US-bound investors pay attention to Grenada?
Grenada is the only Caribbean citizenship by investment country with an E-2 Treaty of Commerce with the United States, so its citizens may apply for a US E-2 investor visa. That treaty access is the main reason the higher Grenada pricing is often preferred over a cheaper Caribbean passport.
Are there ongoing costs after the passport is issued?
There is no residence requirement and no annual government charge. Budget for passport renewal at the end of its validity, and, on the real estate route, ongoing property costs such as management, maintenance and taxes for the five-year holding period.
