The most common misunderstanding we correct in first consultations is the assumption that a UAE residence visa settles a client's tax position. It does not.
Three separate things
A residence visa is an immigration status. A tax residency certificate is issued on separate criteria including presence and a permanent place of residence. Your home country's rules on domicile, ties and exit taxation are a third question, decided by that country.
Working through this for your own family? Book a consultation and an adviser will assess your position directly.
What we do and do not advise on
We prepare the immigration file and coordinate with your tax adviser. We do not give tax advice, and we are wary of anyone in this industry who does it casually alongside a visa sale.
Get the immigration status and the tax position advised by different people, and make them talk to each other.
